I AM A NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC PHOTOGRAPHER

Watch the National Geographic film “The Photographers” ,click the link to view the documentary. After watching the film, write a 2 page paper (Share via Google Docs) in the 1st person (as if you are a National Geographic Photographer) reflecting on the following:

 

Part 1

• What does it take to be a National Geographic Photographer?

• Where does being a National Geographic Photographer take you in the world?

• What are the benefits of being a National Geographic Photographer?

• What are the risks of being a National Geographic Photographer?

• How does being a National Geographic Photographer compare to other careers?

• As a National Geographic Photographer, how well do you need to understand photography equipment?

 

Part 2

Choose any image from the National Geographic website, NationalGeographic.com and write a one page single spaced paper in the first person as if you were the photographer who took that picture.  Create a story that led you to the moment that you snapped the photograph.  You should talk about the subject itself,  equipment used (types of cameras, films, lenses, etc), location, the approach to achieving the photograph, and other aspects of the captured image.  The image should be added to the beginning of the paper.  The photo does not affect the length of your final paper.
