Color can be the key element in a photo that makes the image as powerful as it appears to be.  Color is everywhere and can range in vibrancy, warmth, or coolness.  But color can also be a distracting element that steers the viewers eye away from important elements in the photo.

Assignment:

Photograph the color wheel.  Using a specific theme as the base for your images, create a photographic color spectrum (color wheel) including all 6 colors listed.  The images must directly relate to each other and should all be mounted together on one board. 3 Primary colors: Red, Blue, Yellow, 3 Secondary colors: Green, Orange, Violet.  These colors should either fill the entire frame of the image or should obviously be the primary focus in the scene.  These colors should pop to the viewers where their initial thought is that color.

Final Product:

         Digital layout of color wheel.

Tips to Remember:

-       Make sure that the object or scene you choose is a true representation of the color you are aiming for.

-       Consider using a low aperture to blur out background color that could draw the viewers eye away for the color they should see as the main subject.
