INDEPENDENT STUDY 

 

An independent study can be taken if an individual student decides to challenge their abilities as a photographer by choosing a specific area of photography to focus on, and working with that theme for an entire semester.  This removes the restrictions of specific assignments given in lower level classes and can lead an advanced student in many directions.  Students will keep a weekly journal through either a blog or website.  Student must show a weekly update of images along with written reflections of their experiences of each shoot along with missed opportunities and planned shooting ideas.  As part of the independent study, the student is required to display their body of work by putting on a show at the end of the semester.
